How to play

Aerial view

Aerial view is a daily guessing game: name a real circuit from its surroundings seen from above, with the track left out.

A new round every day at midnight, the same for everyone.

How it works

  1. 1You see a circuit's surroundings from above, drawn from map data: fields, woods, water, roads, buildings. The track itself is left out.
  2. 2Pick the circuit you think it is. Every wrong guess pulls the view further out.
  3. 3Six guesses. After three misses you get the continent, after five the country.

Scoring

The view starts close in, about 350 m across, near the track. Each wrong guess pulls it further out, to the whole area at the last guess; after three misses the continent is shown, after five the country. Six guesses in all. Once it's solved or the guesses run out, the circuit is drawn in. Never the day's Daily Quali, Mystery circuit or Order the corners circuit.

North is always up. A new circuit every day.

Tips

  • Look for water: a harbour, a lake or a river narrows it down fast.
  • Dense towns and tall buildings point to a city circuit; forest and farmland to a country one.
  • The empty band where the track would be often shows its shape once the view pulls out.
